Clerk of the Circuit Court is an immensely important
position. Because of that level of importance, it is imperative that new
technologies be implemented to more efficiently handle the work load running
through the office on a daily basis. With the proper technology
implemented at strategic times, efficiency will increase while the cost
decreases. This should be the purpose of all government offices, to run in
the most efficient manner with the least amount of cost. Taxpayers deserve
no less.
With the future of the Clerk's office being heavily
rooted in technology, the time has come to take the lead of the technology
in the Clerk’s office instead of the technology doing the leading. Whoever
is chosen to be the Clerk of the Circuit Court must have a firm handle and
understanding of the technology that will be implemented over the coming
years. Without that higher level of understanding, the implementation and
the cost of that implementation can very quickly get out of control.

Non-partisan leadership is
absolutely essential in the effective management of the Clerk’s office. We all
have to choose one political party or another when we choose to run for office,
but once elected, many if not all offices need to take a non-partisan approach
to fulfilling the duties of that office and the clerk of the court is no
exception. Being a political newcomer or perhaps even an outsider, I believe I
am a perfect candidate to offer that non-partisan leadership.

I believe that LaPorte County
is primed for change. Not change just for the sake of making change, but change
in the sense that we need to start pushing LaPorte County forward, change in
attitudes, change in how we conduct business, and change in how we respond to
the voters who put us in office. I believe that I am that candidate of change.
